3 Axis BLDC servo controller for automatic valve fastening

This system by Segev Technologies incorporates 3 BLDC axes - drivers by Technosoft, motors and encoders by Faulhaber and main PLC and motion controller by Beckhoff automation. The object of the system is to enable fast, remote and reliable fastening of valves in a critical environment of semiconductors factory.

All 3 axes are EtherCAT enabled, position and torque mode was used to ensure fast transitions between the modes of closure for the valves. The PLC is the EtherCAT master and controls the BLDC drives. Care was taken to add a couple layers of safety for every day usage of the system.

the project is now officially marked as a great success and it saves lots of time and boosts productivity to the factory.
